In homage to practitioners of motif and pattern in other artisan and cultural traditions, the Sojourn collection features motifs which have been translated into a textured self-stitched double cloth weave structure. Woven selvedge to selvedge, essentially this technique creates 2 blankets woven together at moments of pattern, adding warmth and loft.

The Shippo Tsunagi (Seven Treasures) sashiko motif symbolises good fortune. Sashiko, meaning “little stabs”, is a Japanese stitch tradition originally practiced as mending by patching layers of cloth with tiny, precise running stitches.

After hand hemming, washing and steam pressing the blanket is shipped in a box to prevent crushing and comes with an unbleached organic cotton storage bag
